CCTV & AI Video

A camera that only records tells you what happened after the damage is done. Be Watch cameras recognise a person on your driveway at 2 a.m., a vehicle in the loading bay after hours, or a door left open, and they tell you and our monitoring team while there is still time to act.

What the cameras understand

Events, not just footage

Each of these is a real event the system raises, with the clip attached, sent to your phone and to the monitoring team.

Event

Person detected

A person in a zone, at a time, that should be empty. Not a cat, not a branch, not headlights.

Event

Vehicle detected

A vehicle entering a yard, a car park or a driveway. With plate recognition, matched to a list.

Event

After-hours movement

Any movement inside your business outside the hours you set. Escalated to an operator on monitored systems.

Event

Restricted area entered

A person crossing into a zone you have drawn on the camera view: a server room, a plant area, behind a counter.

Event

Door left open

A dock door or fire exit open longer than the limit you set. Duty manager alerted.

Event

Loitering and unusual activity

Someone lingering near an entrance for longer than normal, or movement that does not match the time of day.

Hardware

The cameras themselves

  • 4K and IP cameras for entrances, yards, car parks, counters and stock areas, chosen for the distance and light at each position.
  • Night vision and low-light sensors that produce usable colour footage after dark, not grey shapes.
  • Number plate recognition cameras at gates and driveways, reading plates day and night.
  • Boundary and fence-line monitoring with thermal or long-range cameras for yards and rural properties.
  • Secure remote viewing from the Be Watch app, with per-user permissions so a manager sees their site only.
  • Local recording plus cloud clips, so footage survives a stolen recorder and an internet outage.

Compare

Recording versus understanding

Traditional CCTV Be Watch AI video
What it does at 2 a.m. Records Detects a person, sends the clip, alerts the operator
Alerts Every movement, or none People, vehicles, zones and behaviour only
Finding an incident Scrub hours of footage Search by event, person, vehicle or plate
Vehicle at the gate Someone checks the screen Plate read, matched, gate opened
Link to doors and alarm None Every door event and alarm zone matched to footage
False alarms Frequent Verified on video before anyone is called

Privacy

People are tracked as people, not identified

The analytics see a person, a vehicle and a path. They do not identify who the person is. Faces are matched only where you have chosen facial recognition for access control, and only against the people you have enrolled, with their knowledge.

We help you set camera positions, retention periods and signage so the system meets the Privacy Act 2020 and, just as importantly, so your staff and customers understand and trust it.

Questions

What people ask about CCTV & AI Video

How accurate is the AI detection?

On well-placed cameras, person and vehicle detection is reliable enough that our monitoring operators act on it directly. Placement matters more than the camera model, which is why we design positions on site rather than from a plan.

Can I search footage for a specific car or person?

Yes. Events are indexed, so you can search by time, camera, event type, vehicle or plate instead of scrubbing through hours of recording.

Where is footage stored?

On a recorder at your premises, with event clips also sent to the cloud so they survive a stolen recorder. You choose the retention period, typically 30 days locally.

Will the cameras work with my existing alarm or access system?

Often. The value of Be Watch is the integration, so we will tell you whether your existing systems can be connected or whether it is better to bring them into the platform.
